Recently, 86 Gilroy Catholic College students participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition. The AMC contains unique problems designed each year by leading educators and academics to challenge and extend students’ problem-solving skills. This year, the following awards were achieved : 7 Distinction Award 32 Credit Awards 36 Proficiency Awards 11 Participation Well done to these students for their outstanding achievement, and we congratulate all the students who participated!

🎉Huge congratulations to our 2024 PCYC Work Ready program graduates! 🎉 These students have shown incredible dedication in building their skills and preparing for the workforce. They've earned a nationally recognized First Aid certificate, making them ready to respond when it matters most. They also completed their White Card certification – an essential step for those entering construction and trade roles. On top of that, they mastered key work-ready skills, preparing resumes and practising interview techniques to boost their confidence for real job opportunities. Year 10 Music Students, Jake Emery, Caleb Parker, George Savill, Ryan Hadlow and Nicholas Scollard recently took to the stage taking part in Loreto Normanhurst Spring Fair's "Battle of the Bands." 🎸🥁🎹 Their rock ensemble competed against many rock ensembles from other surrounding schools. The adjudicator and sound crew were most impressed by their level of professionalism and the audience in the Spring Fair were captivated and engaged by their energetic rock performance! 🎶🎵

The Leaders Retreat brought together Year 11 and Year 12 leaders for a three-day event at Mt. Carmel House in Varroville. On the first day, Year 11 students visited TreeTops, where they applied their leadership skills and collaborated as a team to navigate the challenging courses. Later, at Mt. Carmel House, they engaged in various team-building activities designed to strengthen their bonds with the new leadership team. On Wednesday, Year 12 leaders joined the group, and for the next two days, the entire leadership team participated in a range of activities that promoted friendship and highlighted their leadership abilities.
